Week 2 of the RAS NFL preseason service is in the books. We didn’t get the results we wanted, finishing 3-3 for minus-0.3 units on the main service.
Our free play on Falcons/Jets under 42, which we gave out on the live release show, was a narrow winner. That brings us to 2-0 on release shows.
Overall for the season, we are 10-7, +2.35 units.
Recap of plays:
What went right: The Bills-Broncos game. We released Bills +1 early in the week, anticipating they’d play Josh Allen and the starters against Denver reserves. As the week progressed, our suspicions were confirmed. Buffalo ended up closing as 7-point favorites, one of the biggest moves you’ll ever see in a preseason game. The Bills scored touchdowns on their first six possessions and rolled to an easy 42-15 victory.
What went wrong: The Pittsburgh Steelers game. Again. For the second time in two weeks, the Steelers won and covered from a position of extreme weakness—they had a win expectation of just 7 percent with 3 minutes left. But after a Jaguars turnover, the Steelers drove the length of the field, scored a go-ahead touchdown, and then held on. If not for brutal finishes in Steelers games, we’d be 13-4, +8.65 units, and would feel much better about our season to date.
What’s next: We’ve already released a couple of Week 3 preseason plays, and will have more as the week progresses. We are also expecting to release our first college football plays as early as Tuesday morning in advance of Saturday’s games. If you’re interested in subscribing, you can learn more here.
