The RAS NFL service got off to a choppy start in the opening week of preseason, posting a 5-4 record for plus 0.65 units. Previously, we also had a 1-unit win with a free play on Raiders -1 in the Hall of Fame game.
So overall, it’s 6-4, +1.65 units.
Recap of plays:
What went right: Totals. We won all three of the totals we released, including two full-game overs and a 1st half over. It was a good week to be on overs, as last year’s trend of a super low scoring Week 1 preseason reversed itself and we saw 13 of 16 games go over the total.
What went wrong: The Seahawks-Steelers game. We didn’t have a favorable opinion of Kenny Pickett entering the game, but he played better than expected, finishing 13-of-15 for 95 yards and two TDs. The second of his touchdown passes came with three seconds left, following an inexplicable series of events. The TD led to us losing our full game bet on Seattle +3, as well as our 2nd half bet on Seattle -1.5. Overall, it was a 4.2-unit swing, turning what could have been a great week into a pedestrian one.
What’s next: We’ll have our next batch of releases as early as Monday, Aug. 15, likely around noon ET, depending on market conditions. Interested in subscribing? You can join here at the pro-rated price. As of this post, we will have 21 more plays between the NFL preseason and regular season.
