After a choppy start to the season, the RAS college football service got hot in Week 3, finishing 12-4 for plus 7.6 units, fueled by a 6-1 record in “extra” games.
Full game sides and totals went 5-3 and are now 20-9 on the year, and the cumulative record for all releases is 31-19-1 (62%, +10.1 units).
As always, you can view our entire play archive at the RAS website, which provides detailed info on every pick, including closing line value.
Here’s a recap of Week 3 plays:
What went right: The FBS-FCS extra games. For the first two weeks, they were a source of pain for us and had been dragging down the full-season results. But after a strong week in this subset, we are now 9-8-1 (+0.2 units) on extras for the season. All six of our wins were fairly sweat free. The lone loss was Duke/NC A&T under 56.
What went wrong: A tech glitch. Our server crashed on Saturday while releasing a CFB+ first-half play on Iowa -13 vs Nevada, leading to some users getting the pick on a slight delay. The Hawkeyes covered the number, taking a 17-0 lead into the half, and the low-cost CFB+ service (details here) improved to 3-0 on the year. (As a result of the system error, we decided to make the play free for everyone.)
What’s next: We are now taking orders for Phase II of our college football service. It will be 20 plays for $765, and will include all play types, both FBS and FCS. We have a few different pricing options. Please check out our order page for more details. Our next release will come as early as 8 a.m. PT on Monday.
